Fractional CO₂ Laser

The single most powerful treatment for restoring skin from the inside out.

Few treatments transform skin the way fractional CO₂ does. In a single session, it resurfaces years of sun damage, softens lines, refines texture, and triggers a deep, slow rebuild of collagen and elastin that continues for months. At Dr. Cris Studio, CO₂ laser is performed in our private Madison Avenue suite under physician oversight, with a regenerative approach designed to deliver the most natural, refined result possible — and to support your skin all the way through healing.

This is not a quick facial. It is a considered, clinical reset for the skin — one that we plan together, and one that rewards the patients who follow through with their aftercare.

What It Is

Fractional CO₂ is an ablative laser that delivers thousands of microscopic beams of light into the skin, creating precise columns of treated tissue while leaving the surrounding skin intact. This controlled injury does two things at once: it removes the outermost layers where pigment, fine lines, and rough texture live, and it sends a strong signal to the deeper layers to produce new collagen and elastin.

Because the treatment is fractional rather than fully ablative, healing is faster, more comfortable, and far more predictable than the CO₂ resurfacing of a decade ago. Most patients return to normal life within 7–10 days, with continued improvement over the next 3 to 6 months.

Product information

What It Treats

CO₂ laser is one of the most versatile treatments I offer. It is especially effective for:

•      Fine lines and early
wrinkles — around the eyes, mouth, and forehead

•      Skin laxity and loss of
firmness along the jawline, neck, and chest

•      Acne scars and surgical
scars boxcar, rolling, and ice-pick types

•      Sun damage, age spots, and
uneven pigmentation

•      Enlarged pores and rough,
dull texture

•      Crepey skin on the neck,
décolleté, and the back of the hands

Why I Recommend It

•      Visible results from a
single session — most other modalities require a series

•      Collagen continues to build
for 6 to 12 months after the treatment

•      Treats face, neck,
décolleté, and hands — the four areas that age in concert

•      Refines texture and
pigmentation in a way that no facial or peel can match

•      Pairs beautifully with
regenerative care — , exosomes, and stem-cell-based topicals that I use during recovery to accelerate healing and deepen the result

•      Results that are felt and
seen for years, not months, with diligent sun protection

Who it's for

The patients who do best with CO₂ are those ready to
invest in real, lasting change — not a glow that fades in a week. Most are
between their l30s and late 60s and have begun noticing that injectables and topicals alone are no longer enough. If your skin needs structural renewal rather than another facial, this is the treatment we will likely talk about
together.

The Dr. Cris Studio Approach

The only CO₂ protocol in New York that finishes in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber.”

What sets our protocol apart is what happens before and
after the laser itself. I do not treat CO₂ as an isolated procedure — I treat it as the centerpiece of a 90-day plan.

•      We begin with a thorough
consultation, a careful look at your skin in daylight, and a frank conversation about your goals, your skin type, and your tolerance for downtime.

•      Pre-treatment preparation
includes a custom skincare protocol, antiviral prophylaxis when indicated, and clearance from any active inflammation.

•      The treatment is performed
in our private Madison Avenue location, with topical numbing and your comfort prioritized at every step.

•    Within minutes after your treatment, you visit our
hyperbaric oxygen chamber (HBOT) partner at Ila Only Spa for an oxygen-therapy session — concentrated oxygen
that supports faster wound healing, reduces visible redness and swelling, and
gets you back to your life sooner

•      During recovery, I layer in
regenerative support — can be exosome topical application, La Roche-Posay Cicaplast for barrier repair, and personalized check-ins so you are never alone in your healing.

•      At 7 days, 6 weeks and again at 3 months, we evaluate your result together and decide whether a maintenance session would deepen your outcome.

Your Treatment Journey

Day 0  ·  Treatment
A 30 to 60-minute session. You will feel warmth and tingling — most patients describe it as very manageable with topical numbing. Right after you go to a hyperbaric oxygen chamber(HBOT) session for 30 or 60 minutes.

Days 1–3  ·  Healing
Redness, swelling, and a
sunburn-like sensation. We rely on cold compresses, Cicaplast Baume, and strict avoidance of sun and heat.

Days 4–7  ·  Peeling
Skin peels lightly as new layers
emerge. Mineral SPF 45+ becomes part of your daily routine — and stays part of it.

Weeks 2–6  ·  Restoration
Skin looks visibly smoother,
brighter, more even. Makeup can be reintroduced. Continued strict sun protection.

Months 3–6·Collagen build

Themost rewarding phase. Firmness, tone, and refinement continue to develop quietly in the background

FAQ's

What makes the Dr. Cris Studio CO₂ protocol different from otherpractices in New York?

We are the only practice in New York City that pairs
CO₂ laser session with a hyperbaric oxygen therapy session immediately
after treatment. Hyperbaric oxygen delivers concentrated, pressurized oxygen to
the skin's healing tissue — supporting collagen synthesis, calming
inflammation, and accelerating the recovery curve that normally takes seven to
fourteen days. The result is a meaningfully shorter visible downtime and, in
our experience, a smoother, more luminous final result. The protocol is the work
of a boutique practice designed around how patients actually want to
heal — quickly, comfortably, and without disappearing from their lives for two
weeks.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) places the body in a
pressurized chamber filled with 100% medical-grade oxygen. At that pressure,
oxygen dissolves directly into the plasma and reaches the freshly resurfaced
layers of skin in concentrations that normal breathing cannot deliver. This is
the same modality used to support post-surgical wound healing, and the science
is well-established.

For CO₂ specifically, the goal is to support the collagen
and elastin rebuild that the laser triggers — and to shorten the redness,
swelling, and peeling phases that follow.

What is the difference between CO₂ and Morpheus8 or Fraxel?

CO₂ is ablative — it physically resurfaces the skin and
delivers the most dramatic single-session change of any laser treatment.

Fraxel and similar non-ablative lasers work beneath the surface with less downtime but
more sessions required and a gentler result.

Morpheus8 is radiofrequency
microneedling — can remodel tissue, melt or reduce fat pads and does not resurface the way
CO₂ does.

The right choice depends on your goals, your skin, and your schedule.
I am happy to walk you through the tradeoffs at consultation.

Are there reasons I would not be a candidate?

Several. Active skin infection in the treatment area,
isotretinoin (Accutane) within the past 6 to 12 months, pregnancy or
breastfeeding, recent sunburn, a personal history of keloid scarring, certain
autoimmune conditions, and a small number of medications can all be reasons we
delay or modify treatment. Your full medical history is reviewed during
consultation.

Can I combine CO₂ with my other treatments?

Yes — and most patients should. I often pair CO₂ with exosomes, or regenerative topicals during recovery to accelerate healing.
Injectables are paused during the active healing window but can be resumed once
your skin barrier has fully restored, usually around the 4 to 6 week mark.

Does it hurt? How long do results last?

We use a powerful topical anesthetic that takes effect
during the 45 minutes before treatment. Most patients describe the sensation as
warm and tingly, with brief moments of more intense heat. We can pause, cool,
and adjust at any time. Your comfort is part of the design of the visit.

Results can last for years, with strict sun protection. The collagen that
builds in the months after treatment is your collagen — and once it is there,
it ages at the natural pace of your skin. Patients who protect their results
with daily SPF and a thoughtful skincare routine can carry a single CO₂ session
for three to five years before considering a touch-up.
