Fillers are the most personal of all the treatments I do. Botox follows the muscles; fillers respond to the face's architecture. The goal is not to add volume indiscriminately but to restore what has shifted or been lost, to return the face to a proportion that looks natural and exactly like you, not like someone who has had filler. That takes judgment, restraint, and a deep understanding of facial anatomy. It is the work I find most satisfying.
What Are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable gels that restore volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial structure. Some add volume immediately, like hyaluronic acid (HA) fillers. Others, called biostimulators, trigger your skin to produce its own collagen over time. Dr. Cris often combines both approaches for a result that looks natural and lasts.
The fillers I use most are hyaluronic acid-based, meaning they are made from a substance naturally present in your skin. They are reversible with an enzyme called hyaluronidase, which matters, and they integrate into the tissue in a way that looks and moves naturally. I also use biostimulators like Radiesse and Sculptra for patients who want collagen stimulation alongside volume, but those are a separate conversation. The core of my filler practice is hyaluronic acid.
The most common areas I treat are the lips, the cheeks and midface, the under-eye area (tear troughs), the nasolabial folds, the jawline, and the chin. Each area has its own technique, its own depth, its own risk profile, and its own aesthetic logic. I do not approach them all the same way, and I spend a significant part of the consultation explaining my reasoning before I begin.
The Philosophy Behind My Results
Many patients come to me after results they did not love elsewhere, lips that look too large, cheeks that look too round, a face that looks somehow heavier rather than more youthful. These outcomes almost always trace back to placing too much product in too few places. My approach is the opposite: precise placement of exactly the right amount in the right structural location, with more added gradually over time if needed.
I think about the face in terms of proportion and light, how the product will cast shadow or catch highlight, how it will look when the patient is animated and not just posed. The result should be invisible as a treatment and obvious only as a version of yourself that looks more rested, more balanced, more the way you feel on your best day.
Common Treatment Areas
Lip filler: I work toward proportion first, volume second. Most patients who say they want fuller lips actually want better-defined lips, and that is a more precise, more satisfying outcome than simply adding volume. You can read about my approach to lips in my post on natural results with lip filler in NYC.

Cheek filler: the cheeks are the scaffolding of the midface, and lifting them subtly changes everything below, including the nasolabial folds and the jawline. I approach cheeks structurally, placing product at the malar eminence for lift rather than on the surface for roundness.
Under-eye filler : the tear trough is one of the most requested areas and one of the most technique-sensitive. Done carefully, it is transformative. Done without proper assessment, it carries real risks. I discuss candidacy and expectations in my post on whether under-eye filler is right for you.

What to Expect at Your Appointment
The consultation is the most important part of the visit. I look at your face in motion and at rest, ask what you are hoping to address, and share my recommendation, which sometimes differs from what the patient initially asked for, and I explain the reasoning behind it. The injections take twenty to forty minutes depending on the areas treated. Mild swelling and occasional bruising are normal in the first few days; the final result settles within two weeks.
Types of Fillers We Offer
Hyaluronic Acid Fillers
Immediate, adjustable volume for lips, cheeks, chin, jawline, under-eyes, and smile lines. HA is naturally found in your skin, and results can be reversed with an enzyme if needed.
Biostimulator Fillers: Radiesse & Sculptra
Rather than just filling, these stimulate collagen for gradual lift, firmness, and improved skin quality. Radiesse offers lift and support. Sculptra builds volume slowly over several weeks for a subtle, long-lasting effect.
BioCurve Protocol: Lifted Contour
A biostimulator-based protocol to lift and define facial contours.
Liquid Face Lift & Facial Balance Protocol
A whole-face plan that uses strategic filler placement to restore harmony and lift without looking overdone.

Filler vs. Biostimulator: Which Is Right for You?
| HA Fillers | Biostimulators (Radiesse, Sculptra) | |
|---|---|---|
| How it works | Adds volume directly | Stimulates your own collagen |
| Results | Immediate | Gradual, building over weeks |
| Best for | Lips, chin, tear troughs, precise shaping | Lift, firmness, overall skin quality |
| Longevity | Typically 6-18 months | Typically 12-24 months |
| Reversible | Yes, with hyaluronidase | No |
Your plan may include one or both, depending on your anatomy, goals, and timeline.
Combine Fillers with Other Treatments
For the most natural rejuvenation, many clients pair fillers with:
- Botox or Dysport to soften expression lines
- PDO Thread Lifts for added lift
- Microneedling with Exosomes for skin quality and glow

Questions Patients Ask Most
How long does filler last?
It depends on the product and the location. Lip filler typically lasts six to nine months. Cheek and midface filler often lasts twelve to eighteen months. Biostimulators can last two years or more. I discuss product choice and longevity at your consultation.
Is filler reversible?
Hyaluronic acid fillers are reversible with hyaluronidase, an enzyme that dissolves the product. This is one of the reasons I prefer HA fillers for most patients, especially those new to filler. It is a safety net that biostimulators do not have.
Will I look puffy or overfilled?
Not in my practice. I am conservative by default and I use less product than many injectors would recommend, particularly on first visits. You can always return for more; you cannot easily undo too much. I write about my approach in fillers that do not look done.
Can I get multiple areas done in one appointment?
Yes, and I often recommend a comprehensive approach when it makes anatomical sense. Treating the cheeks and lips in the same session, for example, lets me balance the result across the whole face rather than optimize one area in isolation.
What is the difference between filler and Botox?
Botox relaxes muscles to soften dynamic lines. Fillers add structure and volume to areas that have lost them. Most patients benefit from both, used strategically and in proportion to each other. You can read a fuller comparison in my post on Botox vs. dermal fillers.
